The Colorado Avalanche won their second straight game to become the first team to reach the 7-0 mark in a season when they’re the only team with more than a 1-0-0 record.
The win was the first time the Avalanche have won three consecutive games since a 3-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Nov. 16, 2011.
Colorado scored the game-winning goal just one minute into the second period.
Colorado was also the first Avalanche team to score five goals in a regulation period since a 5-4 victory on Nov, 17, 2016 at Buffalo.
The Avalanche, who are off for a three-game road trip, have lost five straight games in Colorado, including a 4-2 shootout loss on Saturday at home to the Calgary Flames.
Colorado will return to action Monday night when they host the Los Angeles Kings.
In the standings, the Avalanche are tied with the New York Islanders for first place with 37 points, three points ahead of the Islanders.

The Avalanche have lost all three games against the two franchises.
